A program to train guides from among veterans of combat operations has been proposed to be launched in Russia.

      On March 25, 2026, at 18:01, the United Russia party proposed to expand the program "Foundations of Security and Defense of the Motherland." The initiatives were voiced during the third district forum of the party "There is a Result!" in Nizhny Novgorod.

      At the round table "Heroes-mentors: the experience of participants in the special military operation for science, education, and youth," experts, military correspondents, and veterans of the special operation discussed how to protect schoolchildren from digital manipulations and involve frontline soldiers in conducting historical excursions, move away from formalism in patriotic work, and help demobilized fighters find themselves in peaceful professions.

      In particular, participants suggested conducting courage lessons with the participation of veterans of the special military operation within the framework of "Conversations about the Main," actively involving them in the military-patriotic game "Zarnitsa," which should be in demand among schoolchildren.

      Moreover, it is necessary to expand the program of lessons "Foundations of Security and Defense of the Motherland" (OBZR). It is proposed to introduce practical modules on information security. Specialists in cybersecurity should be invited to conduct classes where real examples are used to analyze the mechanisms of creating fakes, methods of information-psychological operations, and ways to protect against digital manipulations. The goal is to teach children to navigate the information environment, recognize lies, and consciously resist threats that begin not at the front line but from the smartphone screen. Veterans of combat operations can also be teachers here, as their combat experience is invaluable.

      Another initiative concerns the development of military-historical tourism.

      "We propose to launch a federal program to train guides from among veterans of combat operations called 'Guide with Combat Experience.' They should become the main tour guides on military-historical routes for schoolchildren. The experience of the Nizhny Novgorod project 'Unity is the Path to Victory' has already confirmed that this format really works: just last year, nearly 4,500 eighth-graders from Nizhny Novgorod schools followed our route. And when we involved participants from the special military operation, the children listened to the storytellers with great attention," explained program participant "Time of Heroes," chairman of the Nizhny Novgorod City Duma, Yevgeny Chintsov.

      Summarizing the work, the moderator of the platform, coordinator of the direction "Support for Participants of the Special Military Operation and Their Families" of the people's program of the party, Hero of Russia Vladimir Saibel noted that the main task is to create conditions under which the combat experience and leadership qualities of veterans will be in maximum demand in peaceful life.

      "Frontline soldiers are the true elite, and their participation in mentoring will become a reliable foundation for the development of the state," he concluded.

      Let us remind you that the start of collecting proposals for the new People's Program of United Russia was given by the party chairman Dmitry Medvedev on February 19 at the first district reporting and program forum of the party "There is a Result!" in Yekaterinburg. The party will hold similar forums in all federal districts. At these forums, the Government will report on the implementation of the people's program of United Russia in all areas.

      In addition, proposals will be formed for a new program document. The party's program will consist of two documents — this is a new approach in its work. The first is the actual election program, which will gather solutions to urgent tasks facing the country, and the party's work plan for the term of office of the future composition of parliament. The second block will contain fundamental ideological and value guidelines of the party, describing the strategic image of Russia.

      United Russia has created an expert council for preparing the People's Program. It includes Heroes of Russia, participants of the special military operation, representatives of higher education and science, the rocket and space and nuclear industries, industry and business, the real sector of the economy, public associations, and trade unions.
