The evidence collected by the investigator of the investigative department for the Sormovsky district of Nizhny Novgorod of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Nizhny Novgorod region has been recognized by the court as sufficient for sentencing the former inspector of the traffic police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for Nizhny Novgorod. He was found guilty of committing a crime under part 3 of article 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (accepting a bribe by a public official). The investigation and the court established that on July 16, 2025, the convicted individual, being a public official, identified a violation of parking rules by minors near a shopping center, and for not drawing up a protocol for the detention of the vehicle, its subsequent relocation to a specialized parking lot, and not holding them administratively accountable, received a pit bike worth more than 80,000 rubles as a bribe. The court sentenced the man to 3 years and 1 month of conditional imprisonment, with a probation period of 1 year, a fine equal to the amount of the bribe, and a ban on holding positions in public service for 1 year.
