Pasteurellosis confirmed in two cows in the Pilninsky district.
March 20, 2026 18:21 Incidents Cases of pasteurellosis have been confirmed in two cows at a private farm in the Pilninsky district. This was reported by the Veterinary Committee of the Nizhny Novgorod region.
Pasteurellosis is an acute infectious disease caused by bacteria of the genus Pasteurella. The disease affects agricultural animals, birds, and wild representatives of fauna. The infection develops rapidly and, in the absence of timely measures, can lead to the death of animals.
Recall that after the diagnosis was confirmed, a quarantine was imposed on the farm. As part of anti-epizootic measures, comprehensive disinfection of the premises where the animals were kept is being carried out, as well as rodent control and pest control. Vaccination of susceptible livestock has been organized, additional laboratory studies have been initiated, and daily clinical examinations are being conducted.
Currently, the removal of animals is not planned.
Previously, only isolated cases of pasteurellosis were recorded in the Nizhny Novgorod region in 2020, 2021, and 2023.
It was previously reported that quarantine for rabies was introduced in two settlements in the Nizhny Novgorod region. NIA "Nizhny Novgorod" has a Telegram channel.
