95% of the road markings in Nizhny Novgorod will be applied with plastic.

      March 21, 2026 09:00 Society In the current season, almost all road markings in Nizhny Novgorod will be made using plastic. The work will cover 471 city streets. Plans for horizontal markings were discussed by deputies on March 20 at a meeting of the permanent commission for the development of road management and transport of the city Duma chaired by Stanislav Prokopovich. Nikolai Mamonov, director of the Specialized Installation and Operation Institution of Nizhny Novgorod, reported that markings will be applied on 471 streets, including 50 main highways. The total volume of work on the street and road network, as well as on parking for individual mobility vehicles and bike paths, will amount to 188.7 thousand square meters.

      According to him, 173.5 thousand square meters of markings will be done with plastic, and another 15.2 thousand with paint. Stanislav Prokopovich explained that paint is planned to be used primarily for marking parking for individual mobility vehicles and bike paths. Meanwhile, on the street and road network, 95% of the markings will be applied with plastic, which he described as a modern, durable, and practical material capable of positively influencing road safety.
