The first residency program in psychotherapy will be launched in Nizhny Novgorod.

      March 21, 2026 13:03 Society Starting from September 1, 2026, a residency program in psychotherapy will begin at the Lobachevsky Nizhny Novgorod State University Institute of Clinical Medicine. This will be the first experience for Nizhny Novgorod in launching such a format for training specialists, reported the chief editor of MIA "Stacionar-Press," Alexey Nikонов, on his Telegram channel. The educational program will be closely linked with psychiatry and narcology. Residents will be able to undergo practical training at the Nizhny Novgorod Regional Psychoneurological Hospital No. 3, the regional narcological dispensary, as well as other specialized medical institutions in the city. Practicing specialists will be involved in the training. Classes will be conducted by psychologists, psychotherapists, and gestalt therapists with professional work experience.
