The construction of five kindergartens in three districts of Nizhny Novgorod was discussed in the City Duma.

The meeting was attended by Vasily Sukhanov, chairman of the Legislative Assembly committee on urban development, property, and land relations, Denis Skalkin, first deputy head of the city administration, and Leonid Streltsov, deputy head of the administration. One of the key agenda items was the progress of construction of five kindergartens in Nizhny Novgorod. Tatiana Geraskina, director of the construction and capital repair department, spoke about the implementation of projects under the federal project "Support for Families" of the national project "Family." The customer for the facilities is GlavUKS. The projects are financed from federal, regional, and city budgets under municipal contracts. The total area of the new buildings will be 30,061.4 square meters, designed for 1,218 places. Three kindergartens are being built in the Soviet district, and one each in the Avtozavodsky and Kstovsky districts. The work is on schedule. The commission members also discussed the design and construction of a new building for school No. 118 in the Moscow district. This issue was included in the agenda at the initiative of deputy Yulia Manturova. As Tatiana Geraskina explained, the implementation of the project is planned for 2028-2030 as part of the federal project "All the Best for Children" of the national project "Youth and Children." Funding is also expected from three levels of the budget — federal, regional, and city. The construction will take place in two phases. First, the educational building will be erected, followed by the sports core building on the adjacent site. The new building will include rooms for specialized training and extracurricular activities, a cafeteria, a medical office, a career guidance and vocational training classroom, as well as an electronic shooting range. The educational spaces will be distributed across floors considering functional zoning. The sports core building will house a universal gym, changing rooms, a coach's office and equipment room, a cloakroom, restrooms, a medical office, and administrative spaces. Additionally, the deputies reviewed the latest adjustments to the city budget proposed by the finance department and heard information about the work of the City Center for Urban Planning and Architecture for 2025.
