Nizhny Novgorod enterprises are invited to participate in the "Exporter of the Year. Made in Russia" award.
March 21, 2026 09:18 Economy Representatives of small and medium-sized businesses, large companies, and individual entrepreneurs from the Nizhny Novgorod region are invited to participate in the all-Russian award "Exporter of the Year. Made in Russia." The competition is organized by the Russian Export Center (REC) in collaboration with the Ministry of Industry, Trade, and Entrepreneurship of the region and the Export Support Center of the Nizhny Novgorod region as part of the national project "International Cooperation and Export." Since 2026, the award has been combined with the national promotion program "Made in Russia." The presence of the "Made in Russia" certificate (REC) is a priority evaluation criterion and an advantage for participants. The Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation, Maxim Reshetnikov, noted that the changes are aimed at improving the support system for non-resource non-energy exports and increasing the recognition of Russian companies in foreign markets. "The merging of the competition with the national brand 'Made in Russia' allows us to focus on the quality characteristics of products. The inclusion of information technology, creative industries (fashion, cinema, animation, beauty), and the tourism sector in the updated lineup of main nominations will showcase the results of forming a new export potential of regions through new products. Today, these are precisely the sectors of the economy where success is determined not by the size of the company's capitalization, but by the uniqueness of its business idea. This approach is an opportunity to duly recognize the achievements of those Russian exporters who today, alongside large enterprises, make a significant contribution to achieving the national goal set by the President of Russia to increase the volume of non-resource exports," Maxim Reshetnikov noted. The list of main nominations for the award retains key export sectors of the economy. Winners will be determined in the following nominations: "Exporter of the Year. Industry," "Exporter of the Year. Agro-industrial Complex." New nominations have been introduced: "Food Products," "Fashion Industry," "Beauty Industry," "High Technology IT," "Cinema, Animation," "Tourism Industry." "The Nizhny Novgorod region trades with almost 100 countries around the world. The region has confidently established itself as a platform for international cooperation and business activity on a federal scale. Additionally, we are one of the largest transport and logistics centers in Russia at the intersection of the West-East and North-South routes, with a stable cargo flow, including abroad. Our enterprises supply equipment, plastics and products made from it, pharmaceutical products, and much more to other countries. Participation in the award is an opportunity for regional companies to demonstrate their competencies at the federal level and confirm the high quality of their products," noted the governor of the Nizhny Novgorod region, secretary of the regional branch of the "United Russia" party, Gleb Nikitin. New categories have appeared in the additional nominations that highlight qualitative breakthroughs in foreign markets. The nomination "Global Development of Trade Networks and Digital Platforms" and "Marketing Breakthrough" have been introduced. Additional nominations also include "Woman - Exporter of the Year" and "New Geography." "The expansion of the list of nominations will attract more companies to participate in the award and more fully showcase the capabilities of Nizhny Novgorod businesses. The updated competition focuses on enterprises working in non-resource exports – a direction that is actively developing in the region. Thus, in 2025, the volume of non-resource exports in the Nizhny Novgorod region grew by five percent with an overall export growth of nine percent," emphasized the Minister of Industry, Trade, and Entrepreneurship of the Nizhny Novgorod region, Maxim Cherkasov. The application process for the award has been maximally simplified and is conducted entirely in digital format on the official website: https://www.exportcenter.ru/awards/. At the initial stage, the exporter will need a minimal package of documents: it is sufficient to provide an electronic copy of the tax identification number certificate, and for representatives of small and medium-sized businesses – an extract from the Unified Register of SMEs. Applications are open until May 31, 2026. Winners will be determined in August 2026. We remind you that applications for participation in the regional competition "Exporter of the Year. Made in Russia" are also open until March 30. Winners of the regional stage receive additional points at the federal level.
