Nizhny Novgorod enterprises participated in the V festival of the All-Russian Physical Culture and Sports Complex "Ready for Labor and Defense" among labor collectives.

      March 23, 2026 17:55 Sports On March 21, the V Festival of the All-Russian Physical Culture and Sports Complex "Ready for Labor and Defense" (VFSK GTO) among labor collectives of the Nizhny Novgorod region took place in the athletics hall of the Lokomotiv Stadium in Nizhny Novgorod. 38 teams representing 30 enterprises from the Nizhny Novgorod region participated in the event. As part of the festival, athletes performed the main standards of the VFSK GTO to receive bronze, silver, and gold badges of distinction, as well as competed for victory and prize places in the team standings. The organizers of the festival among labor collectives are the Ministry of Sports of the Nizhny Novgorod region and the ANO "Rating/Sport" with the support of the "ANO Center for the Development of Corporate Sports" and the VFSO "Labor Reserves." "The GTO complex goes beyond the fulfillment of sports standards and becomes a powerful tool for engaging people in an active lifestyle. To date, more than 158 thousand residents of Nizhny Novgorod have received GTO badges. These include children, representatives of the 'silver' age, and, of course, workers. The participation of labor collectives in the festival is a sign that Nizhny Novgorod enterprises care about the health of their employees and foster a culture of sports within their organizations. The results are evident — employees get sick less often, become more effective, and together move towards common goals not only on the sports field but also in solving work tasks," emphasized Dmitry Kabailo, the Minister of Sports of the Nizhny Novgorod region, while welcoming the festival participants. As a result of the festival, the team from Lobachevsky NNSU took first place, receiving the 2026 transitional cup. This team has become the absolute winner of the competitions for the third consecutive year. In second place is the team from the Gorky Railway, and third place goes to the team from PJSC "Vyksa Steel Works." The winning team will represent the Nizhny Novgorod region at the federal stage of the VFSK GTO festival among labor collectives. "Thank you for finding time for sports in your challenging work activities. It has been established that a person who engages in sports is more effective. I thank the leaders who support their teams in this endeavor," addressed Natalia Bocharova, the director of ANO "Rating/Sport," to the festival participants. The V Festival of the VFSK GTO among labor collectives of enterprises in the Nizhny Novgorod region meets the goals and objectives set by the state program "Sports of Russia."
