The All-Russian media competition "Camera.Hike.Russia" for young professionals has started.

March 23, 2026 17:47 Society The application campaign for the All-Russian media competition "Camera.Hike.Russia" (18+) has begun for young professionals in the media industry, thanks to which they will receive a unique opportunity to enhance their skills in creating quality video content under the guidance of experienced mentors, attend exciting lectures from leading speakers, and embark on expeditions across Russia to shoot films about nature, people, and travels throughout the country. The competition is launched by the Rosmolodyozh program "More than a Journey" (implemented as part of the national project "Youth and Children") in collaboration with "Tavrida.ART" and the ANO "Youth Center 'SHUM'" as part of the project "Hikes of the First – More than a Journey." Young professionals aged 18 to 35, working or developing in the media and film sector: directors and screenwriters, cinematographers, sound engineers, editors, and actors are invited to participate. To take part, it is necessary to submit an online application on the website, attaching a video resume and portfolio. The competitive selection for participation in the project will last until April 5 (applications must be submitted by this date). Following the application stage, the expert council will select 100 finalists. They will unite into teams and, under the guidance of mentors – representatives of the film and media industry – will go through the full cycle of creating short films, which will later become a single series, as well as social advertising materials about travels across Russia: from idea and script development to filming and final presentation of the works. "We aim to create a powerful pool of professionals ready to share their knowledge and experience, as well as bring new ideas to the development of the media industry. One hundred finalists, united into 20–25 teams, will be able to showcase their talents and creativity while working on creating quality video content that will not only inspire but also foster patriotism among the youth. The competition is designed not only to popularize hiking tourism and an active lifestyle but also to instill a sense of pride in our country. Participants will receive a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in the richness of Russian nature and culture, as well as create content that reflects the true values of our people. I am confident that this project will become a launching pad for young professionals who will shape the image of domestic media content filled with love for the Motherland and pride in its history!" says Stanislav Kireev, Deputy General Director of ANO "More than a Journey." After the selection, the finalists will go to the in-person educational program "Camera.Hike.Russia," which will take place from May 12 to 15, 2026, at the youth center "SHUM" in the Kaliningrad region. Here, participants will meet mentors, unite into teams, and develop concepts for future video works. "It is important for us that young media professionals learn to truly see and feel their country. Russia is vast, multifaceted, and incredibly beautiful, but it can only be developed when you know it, love it, and take pride in what it has. Through expeditions, creativity, and teamwork, participants will discover new places, stories, and people, and then be able to tell about it through the lens and the content they create. We believe that such content can inspire – awakening in people the desire to travel across Russia, rediscover it, and treat its nature and culture with care. And the more young authors talk about the beauty and value of our country, the more people will be able to see it through the eyes of those who genuinely admire it," notes Tatiana Mandrykina, head of the Youth Media Development Center "SHUM." A key stage of the competition will be expeditions to the regions of Russia, where participants will be able to apply their skills in real hiking conditions. During the expeditions, teams will create videos about travels across Russia, as well as short films that will become part of the future series. From August 30 to September 5, in Crimea at the art cluster "Tavrida," as part of the Summer School of the "Meganom" Academy, experienced professionals will share with young people the knowledge and skills necessary for working with media content. "The art cluster 'Tavrida' is a city of young creators, where caring people interested in the development of creative industries meet. At our venue, participants will present their works for the first time and receive feedback from experts. After the competition, viewers will be able to see a series that tells about mountain tourism and hiking routes in different corners of the country through personal experiences and vivid impressions. I am confident that creative teams will be able to convey the beauty of Russia's mountainous landscapes through the language of cinema and inspire viewers to travel!" says Vladislav Mironov, curator of the art school and head of the film, animation, and media content industry service at the art cluster "Tavrida." The final stage of the competition will also take place here, where participants will complete their films and present them to the expert jury. The screening and defense of the participants' works, as well as the awarding of winners, will take place on September 4, 2026. The works of the winners will be featured on TV, in online cinemas, social networks, and tourist platforms. NIA "Nizhny Novgorod" has a Telegram channel.
