The most significant decrease was recorded on the R-158 highway (by 31.5%). On the R-177 "Povetluzhye", accidents decreased by 20.6%, and on the M-7 "Volga" — by 16%. The main causes of accidents remain head-on and side collisions, including due to speeding, crossing into oncoming traffic, and failure to maintain distance, as well as collisions with obstacles and parked vehicles. At the same time, the number of accident hotspots decreased: from 15 in 2024 to eight in 2025. Most of them are located on the M-7 highway. Measures to enhance safety have been developed for all sections. As noted by Uprdor Moscow — Nizhny Novgorod, the positive dynamics are associated with road repairs and infrastructure development.
