The "Vladimir" billboard is being dismantled in Nizhny Novgorod.

In Nizhny Novgorod, the phased dismantling of the tunnel-boring mechanized complex "Vladimir" continues at Freedom Square. The work requires high precision and considerable effort, the MetroNN Telegram channel reported.
First, specialists are lifting the heaviest elements to the surface. A 54-ton rotor and a 32-ton "skirt" have already been extracted. The front shield has also been disassembled, parts of which were removed piece by piece. Their combined mass exceeded 130 tons. In addition, the motor plate — a key working unit of the complex weighing 36 tons — was extracted from the dismantling chamber.
Recall that in December the shield successfully completed the excavation of two tunnels from Sennaya Square to Freedom Square. Now it is being sent for "rest" and technical maintenance.
There are no plans to reassemble "Vladimir" for further work in the city. Two new tunnel-boring complexes are being prepared to replace it; they will be launched from Gorky Street toward Freedom Square. These works are planned to be completed by summer 2026.
It was previously reported that the Sennaya and Ploshchad Svobody stations are planned to be completed by 2027. A further 12.4 billion rubles will be allocated to extend the Avtozavodskaya metro line.
