The Investigative Committee opened a criminal case after a woman was injured on an ice patch in Vyksa.

      A criminal case has been opened in the city of Vyksa in the Nizhny Novgorod region over the injury of a local resident as a result of snow and ice falling from the roof of an apartment building. This was reported by the regional branch of the Investigative Committee of Russia.

      The incident occurred on Krasnye Zori Street in January of this year. According to the investigation, masses of snow and ice collapsed from the roof of the residential building onto the woman. The victim, suffering injuries of varying severity, was taken to a medical facility where she received the necessary care.

      The criminal case was opened under the article on performing work or providing services that do not meet safety requirements. Investigators are currently carrying out a set of measures aimed at establishing all the circumstances of the incident and the nature of the harm caused to the victim's health.

      As part of the investigation, a legal assessment will be made of the actions (or inaction) of the persons responsible for ensuring the timely clearing of roofs of snow and ice. Preventive measures are also planned to prevent similar cases in the future.

      Earlier it was reported that investigators are examining an incident in which teenagers attacked a Nizhny Novgorod tram driver.
