Passengers on the flight diverted to Nizhny Novgorod will be sent to Moscow by bus.
January 10, 2026, 11:55 — Society. Aeroflot continues to actively work on minimizing the consequences of restrictions on flight arrivals at Sheremetyevo Airport, introduced on January 10 due to adverse weather conditions.
By 11:00, seven of the airline’s flights had already been diverted to alternate airfields, three of them to Nizhny Novgorod.
Crews, having completed their duty, will no longer be able to return to operate flights, so passengers en route to Moscow from Hurghada will be transported by buses, and those who were flying from Yerevan have been temporarily accommodated in a hotel. Passengers on the flight from Istanbul are awaiting the opportunity to continue their journey after Sheremetyevo Airport resumes operations.
All passengers are being provided with services in strict accordance with the Federal Aviation Rules of the Russian Federation.
It should be recalled that Chkalov Airport accepted four international flights as an alternate airfield. For passengers’ convenience, drinking water points have been set up at the airport, coolers have been installed, and soft seats (poufs and mattresses) have been provided. The Volga Transport Prosecutor’s Office is monitoring compliance with passengers’ rights.
