Frost will intensify in the Nizhny Novgorod Region during the final days of the New Year holidays.

      A significant cold snap is expected in the Nizhny Novgorod region this coming weekend. According to the Yandex Weather service, temperatures will drop to -10 degrees Celsius, and the impact of weather conditions will intensify.

      On Saturday, January 10, light snow is expected in the morning with temperatures around -5°C; however, due to high humidity and an easterly wind, the feels-like temperature may reach -10°C. Atmospheric pressure will be below normal. Snow will continue during the day. By evening there will be clearings in the sky, and the frost will strengthen to -7°C.

      Sunday, January 11, will bring an even more noticeable cold. In the morning the temperature will drop to -10°C, while the easterly wind will die down to 1 m/s. Daytime temperatures are expected to be around -7 to -8°C, but it will feel colder. Light snow is also possible. By evening the wind will strengthen.

      The Earth's magnetic field will be stable on Saturday, but a weak geomagnetic storm is already possible on Sunday.

      After a warm and low-snow December, a true Russian winter has come to the Nizhny Novgorod region.
