Emergency medical teams of Nizhny Novgorod responded to more than 200,000 calls in 2025. Despite the increasing workload, the average arrival time to the scene does not exceed 20 minutes.

These figures were published on his Telegram channel by the editor-in-chief of the medical publication "Stacionar-Press", Alexey Nikonov. According to him, the indicators remain stable even amid a rise in calls requiring urgent and highly qualified care.

Medics note that assistance was especially often needed by patients with acute cardiac conditions and after severe injuries. In response, services have strengthened their technical equipment: resuscitation crews now use portable ultrasound machines.

As explained by the chief physician of the Nizhny Novgorod Emergency Medical Service Station, Roman Pegov, mobile ultrasound devices make it possible to quickly detect critical conditions, including in road accidents, stab wounds and other unclear symptoms. This helps to place catheters more accurately, monitor vital functions and speed up preparation for surgical intervention in the hospital.

Despite the heavy workload, the level of complaints about the crews' work remains minimal — only 0.1% of the total number of calls. Most complaints are related to limited transport accessibility and the service's high workload.

Earlier it was reported that the most common injury among Nizhny Novgorod residents during the New Year holidays was a fracture of the radial bone.
