In 2025, 94 apartment buildings in the Nizhny Novgorod Region that had been declared unsafe and resettled were demolished, amounting to 104.4% of the planned volume. The work was carried out under the regional state program "Development of Housing Construction and Elimination of Emergency Housing Stock" and contributes to the implementation of the national project "Infrastructure for Life."

The demolition of dilapidated buildings involved 19 municipalities of the region, including Balakhninsky, Vetluzhsky, Volodarsky, Voskresensky, Kstovsky, Urensky and Shatkovsky districts, as well as the cities of Nizhny Novgorod, Arzamas, Bor, Vyksa, Chkalovsk and others.

As emphasized by the Minister of Construction of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, Dmitry Grunichev, such measures are necessary to free up and further use land plots for new construction and the development of the urban environment.

"Since 2021, 633 emergency apartment buildings have been demolished in the region. We continue this work: in 2026 it is planned to demolish another 46 such properties. 54.1 million rubles have already been allocated in the regional budget for these purposes," the minister said.

Recall that in Nizhny Novgorod in 2025, 34 emergency apartment buildings were demolished. In total, by 2030 it is planned to resettle more than 6,000 Nizhny Novgorod residents from 250 emergency apartment buildings.

It was also reported that the Nizhny Novgorod Region additionally received another 1.9 billion rubles for the resettlement of emergency housing.
