The Nizhny Novgorod ambulance service handled more than 200,000 calls.
Nizhny Novgorod’s ambulance service handled more than 200,000 calls in 2025. This was reported by Alexey Nikonov, editor-in-chief of MIA "Stacionar-Press," on his Telegram channel.
It is noted that last year the number of emergency ambulance calls requiring immediate intervention and highly qualified care increased. This concerns, in particular, serious heart problems and injuries.
On average, an ambulance crew arrived at a call no later than 20 minutes.
"Our resuscitation teams are now equipped with portable ultrasound devices to detect critical conditions and determine the severity of injuries sustained in road accidents, stab wounds and unclear conditions. The method allows for more precise catheter placement and monitoring of vital functions, reducing the time needed for additional examinations and for preparing the surgical team at the hospital," noted Roman Pegov, chief physician of the Emergency Medical Station of Nizhny Novgorod.
Residents of Nizhny Novgorod were generally satisfied with the ambulance crews' work. Complaints amounted to only 0.1% of all calls. Complaints were caused by difficult road conditions and the high workload of ambulance crews.
