In 2025, almost 43,000 residents of Nizhny Novgorod Oblast received medical care thanks to the work of the mobile diagnostic complexes of the "Health Trains" project. This was reported by the regional Ministry of Health when summing up the results for the year.

Over 12 months, five mobile medical complexes made 245 trips and visited 790 settlements in the region. During this time, doctors conducted more than 73,000 consultations and carried out over 153,000 various examinations.

Patients had at their disposal diagnostics such as electrocardiography, fluorography, mammography, ultrasound examinations, as well as rapid biomaterial tests in a mobile laboratory. In addition, at residents' requests a dental unit and a diamobile, designed to detect endocrine diseases including diabetes mellitus, were connected to the "Health Trains."

According to the region's Minister of Health, Galina Mikhailova, the work of the mobile complexes significantly facilitates access to medical care for residents of remote settlements. She also stressed that the project helps reduce the burden on central district hospitals, where staff shortages are particularly acute.

The Ministry of Health noted that in 2025, as part of the outreach diagnostics, for the first time more than 8,600 conditions were identified, including 116 cancer cases. More than half of those who sought help were referred for further examinations, and about 1,200 patients were referred for hospitalization.

The "Health Trains" project has been implemented in the region since 2018 at the initiative of Governor Gleb Nikitin. Its implementation aligns with the goals of the national project "Long and Active Life."

The schedule of the mobile complexes is updated monthly and is available on the website of the Ministry of Health of Nizhny Novgorod Oblast. In 2026, the "Health Trains" will resume trips on January 12. During the first month, visits to settlements in 15 municipalities of the region are planned.

Earlier it was reported that 17,000 cases of acute respiratory viral infections and influenza were registered in Nizhny Novgorod Oblast over the week.
