Raids in Nizhny Novgorod uncovered more than 140 cases of illegal trade.

      In 2025, more than a hundred raids were carried out in the Sovetsky District of Nizhny Novgorod aimed at combating illegal street trading, the district administration reported.

      The head of the district, Alexander Ivanov, said that inspections take place every week. They involve specialists from administrative and technical services and municipal control, as well as police officers. He noted that since the beginning of the year 146 protocols were drawn up for sellers who were operating outside designated areas. All the materials were forwarded to justices of the peace, and as a result of consideration fines totaling more than 378,000 rubles were imposed.

      Deputy head of the district for economics and entrepreneurship Marina Astapova emphasized that particular attention is paid to those locations that residents complain about most often. According to her, during inspections specialists not only identify illegal trading points but also check whether entrepreneurs comply with the terms of lease in non-stationary facilities.

      If trading is carried out outside the permitted zone, it is considered an administrative violation under regional legislation. In the case of repeated violations, lease agreements may be terminated and the trading pavilions dismantled.

      It was previously reported that 17 cases of illegal sale of pyrotechnics were discovered in Nizhny Novgorod.
