The number of animals killed in the fire at a Nizhny Novgorod farm has risen to 150.

The total number of animals killed as a result of a large fire in the village of Startsevo in the Gorodetsky District has reached 150 head, the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations for the Nizhny Novgorod region reported.
Recall that the fire occurred on the premises of a private subsidiary farm and an administrative building. The flames covered an area of 830 square meters.
According to updated information from the farm owner, 5 dairy cows, 50 sheep, 15 dairy goats, 1 billy goat, 52 piglets, 10 sows and 17 fattening piglets died.
Preliminary data indicate that the fire was caused by a malfunction of electrical equipment. Specialists continue to investigate all the circumstances of the incident.
Earlier it was reported that in the Pilninsky District a man died in a fire caused by a cigarette.
