Service member Sergey Dimirov gave his life defending the country during the special military operation, the administration of the Sechenovsky District reports. Sergey was born on January 20, 1994, in the village of Sarbaevo in the Sechenovsky municipal district of Nizhny Novgorod Oblast. After graduating from Shemarino School, he enrolled in the Sechenovsky Agrotechnical College, where he trained as an agricultural machinery operator. He began his military service in December 2016, and from April 2018 served under contract as a gunner in a motorized rifle unit.
For conscientious performance of his duties he was repeatedly commended by his commanders and received three certificates of honor. On June 30, 2023, Sergey was awarded the St. George’s Cross, 4th class. On April 11, 2025, he died while carrying out combat missions.
The farewell ceremony for the hero will take place on January 8 at the village House of Culture in Shemarino, 1 Molodezhnaya Street.
