According to the results of medical screenings carried out in 2025 at the outpatient clinics of City Hospital No. 2, a significant portion of Dzerzhinsk residents were found to have chronic diseases and risk factors. This was reported by Alexey Nikonov, editor-in-chief of the medical publication "Stacionar-press." From more than 41 thousand examined city residents, about 30 thousand have excess body weight, mainly due to unbalanced diets. In addition, doctors recorded elevated cholesterol levels in 10 thousand people, and elevated blood glucose in 2,355. Diabetes mellitus was newly diagnosed in 137 patients, glaucoma was detected in 112 residents. Heart and vascular diseases were found in 842 Dzerzhinsk residents.
Special attention was paid by specialists to cancer: cancer was detected in 129 people, and in the majority of cases at an early stage. Against this alarming statistic, only 8,258 city residents were recognized as completely healthy.
