      Restoration work at the A.M. Gorky Literary Museum in Nizhny Novgorod has entered the final stretch. According to experts, the site is about 80% ready.

      As Mayor Yuri Shalabaev reported on his Telegram channel, work in the Oak Hall is practically finished. The first oak chandelier has already been assembled, and the gilding of the stucco decoration is actively underway. The overall volume of stucco restoration is 94% complete. Work on installing new castings on the building's façade is at the same level.

      Special attention is being paid to finishing with Oselkov marble, restoring walls, oak doors and subflooring. These works are 75–85% complete.

      "The opening of the fully renovated museum this year, as we all expect, will be a real gift to the city for the upcoming 805th anniversary," the head of the city noted.

      Recall that the museum building, which is a regional cultural heritage site called "House of V.M. Burmistrova with interior," was closed for restoration back in 2019. However, a fire occurred in 2020, which significantly slowed the restoration process.

      The project was originally handled by the company AVK Group, but the contract with it was terminated in 2022. In February it became known that an additional 91 million rubles were allocated to complete the restoration.

      In the summer of 2025 specialists completed the restoration of the stucco in the White Hall. The restoration of five museum exhibits from the Gorky Museum collection is also planned. 2.9 million rubles from the city budget were allocated for these purposes.

      It was previously reported that a café of a popular fast-food chain will appear in the "Chardymov House" on Bolshaya Pecherskaya.
