Ahead of the New Year, residents of the Avtozavodsky District handed over more than 10 tons of humanitarian aid to troops taking part in the special military operation. The shipment included personal hygiene items, medicines, food, trench candles and warm clothing, as well as letters and greeting cards. Collection and dispatch were organized with the support of the local branch of the United Russia party.
“We really want the guys on the front line to feel the holiday. Avtozavod residents, from young to old, united to assemble New Year’s gifts for our fighters. We wish everyone the strongest health and a speedy return home,” said Vladimir Soldatenkov, a member of the United Russia party faction in the Legislative Assembly of the Nizhny Novgorod Region.
Educational institutions in the district, public and volunteer organizations and deputies of the Legislative Assembly of the Nizhny Novgorod Region joined the initiative.
“Many thanks to everyone who helps our military bring victory closer, who do everything possible so they feel the support of their fellow citizens. On the eve of the New Year it is especially important to give a festive mood to the fighters who are far from home. May our parcels and children’s cards remind the guys that people here believe in them and are waiting for them,” said Alexander Nagin, head of the Avtozavodsky District administration and secretary of the local branch of the United Russia party.
A ceremonial rally was held before the shipment. It was attended by staff and pupils of the Center for Children’s Creativity, representatives of the Avtozavodsky District administration and the local branch of the United Russia party. Veteran of the special military operation Alexander Kuzmin addressed those gathered with words of gratitude.
“This entire shipment will definitely reach the guys on the front line. Your help and support are very important to them. Every letter and every small gift a soldier receives warms him and gives him an understanding of what and whom he is fighting for. Thank you for your help and care!” he said.
It should be recalled that residents of the Nizhny Novgorod Region provide ongoing support to servicemen, internally displaced persons, those in the liberated territories and residents of border regions.
The Nizhny Novgorod regional branch and volunteer center of the United Russia party organized operational headquarters in the early days of the special military operation; the party’s deputies and various organizations immediately joined in. Shipments are being sent on an ongoing basis — for both military personnel and the civilian population. Deputies and activists, together with partners, regularly hand over necessary items, special equipment, medicines and food.
