Olga Guseva, the Minister of International and Interregional Relations of the Nizhny Novgorod region, emphasized that such growth confirms the correctness of the chosen course. According to her, the region is focusing not only on economic cooperation but also on the development of scientific and educational ties.
In 2025, as part of educational cooperation, a master class titled "Scientific Bridge: Uniting the Knowledge of Russia and Kyrgyzstan" was held at Minin Nizhny Novgorod State Pedagogical University, attended by students from both countries. Teachers and students from Minin University also gave lectures and workshops on economics at Batken State University as part of the international academic mobility program.
To date, 25 agreements have been concluded between Nizhny Novgorod and Kyrgyz universities, and around 50 students from Kyrgyzstan study at Nizhny Novgorod universities.
Among the notable events of 2025 was the opening of the office of the Honorary Consul of the Kyrgyz Republic in Nizhny Novgorod. In addition, during a visit to Kyrgyzstan by a delegation from the city of Arzamas led by Mayor Alexander Shchelokov, an agreement was signed to establish friendly ties between Arzamas and the city of Talas.
Next year it is planned to expand the geography of cooperation: the region is preparing agreements with the Jalal-Abad, Chui, and Issyk-Kul regions of Kyrgyzstan. In addition, the possibility of establishing sister-city ties between other cities of the two countries is being discussed.
The Ministry of International and Interregional Relations of the Nizhny Novgorod region also plans to reward active participants in its project "Club of Internationalists." In 2026, the ten best young people will be able to visit the Kyrgyz embassy in Moscow at the invitation of Ambassador Kubanychbek Bokontaev.
