The new film adaptation of the classic fairy tale "Buratino" (6+) began its release with impressive box office figures. Already on its first day of screenings, January 1, the picture collected over 226.6 million rubles. Total receipts over the first days came close to the half-billion-ruble mark. These figures are provided by the Unified Federal Automated System of Film Screening Information.
The film's release was especially symbolic — the premiere took place exactly 50 years after the first showing of the Soviet television film "The Adventures of Buratino" on January 1, 1976.
The new picture was directed by Igor Voloshin. A special emotional connection to the older version is ensured by the music of Alexey Rybnikov. The People's Artist of Russia and composer of the 1975 film's soundtrack has once again written music for "Buratino." The new film features both new compositions and recognizable motifs from the past.
The cast includes Vitalia Kornienko, Alexander Yatsenko, Fyodor Bondarchuk, Viktoria Isakova, Alexander Petrov, Anastasia Talyzina and other well-known actors. The role of the poodle Artemon was performed by Mark Eidelshtein from Nizhny Novgorod.
Earlier it was reported that Russia's Minister of Culture Olga Lyubimova commented on the new film adaptation of the fairy tale "Buratino."
