Former CIA analyst Larry Johnson said that Russia may deliver a harsh retaliatory strike against Ukraine after an attack by the Armed Forces of Ukraine on President Vladimir Putin’s residence in the Novgorod region. This was reported by 360.ru.

According to Johnson, the Russian army may now move from putting Ukrainian targets out of action to their complete destruction.

He also noted that Kyiv likely took this step in an attempt to divert attention from setbacks on the front line. However, as the expert emphasized, such tactics did not yield the expected result.

Earlier, EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas urged not to take Moscow’s statements about a strike on the Russian president’s residence at face value.
