Participants in the special military operation are granted access to museums and theaters via a QR code.
Nizhny Novgorod Region has become one of the first sites in Russia where participants in the special military operation can visit museums and theaters under a simplified system — using a QR code. Our region, together with Moscow Region and Saint Petersburg, was included among the pilot territories of the Ministry of Digital Development of the Russian Federation’s project on the digital transformation of support measures. This was reported by the Ministry of Culture of the Nizhny Novgorod Region.
To enjoy art, defenders of the Fatherland only need to have a smartphone at hand. The mechanism for confirming status has become as simple and modern as possible. It can be used by SVO participants registered with the Ministry of Defense who have a verified account on the Gosuslugi portal. To do this, it is enough to open the mobile application, go to the service page and press the “Get” button. The system will automatically send a request to the agency’s database and generate a unique QR code. This code can be shown to an institution employee directly from the phone screen, and a screenshot can also be taken in advance in case there is no internet. But it is important to note that the code is valid for five minutes, after which the data are refreshed for security reasons.
In Nizhny Novgorod, cultural spaces such as the TYuZ (Youth Theater), the Nizhny Novgorod State Art Museum, the Nizhny Novgorod Museum-Reserve and the Russian Museum of Photography have already joined the project. The verification process at the entrance is organized very simply: an employee scans the code through the “Goskan” application and instantly receives confirmation of status.
At the same time, the digital innovation is intended to supplement, not replace, the usual ways of obtaining benefits. If the data in the system have not yet been updated or an SVO participant represents other agencies, they and their family members can always use traditional documents — a paper certificate or a veteran’s ID. If the information is not found automatically, the service will itself suggest that the user apply for a certificate at the Ministry of Defense’s Military-Social Center. Thus, thanks to digital technologies, access to cultural events for our heroes becomes even faster and more comfortable.
