      02 January 2026 10:50 Incidents A fire broke out in the morning in a garage complex on Shkolnaya Street in the settlement of Bolshoye Mokroe in the Kstovsky District. The fire engulfed one of the bays; the interior space of 15 square meters was burned out. This was reported by the regional office of the Ministry of Emergency Situations (EMERCOM).

      The body of a 57-year-old man was found at the scene. According to preliminary information, he did not have a permanent job. The main suspected cause of the fire was careless smoking.

      Thanks to the prompt work of the firefighters, the spread of the fire to neighboring units was prevented. There were four garage bays in the block in total.

      Fifteen EMERCOM personnel and five vehicles took part in extinguishing the fire.

      Earlier it was reported that careless smoking may have been the cause of the fire in Novy Doskin, which claimed two lives.
