      The Chkalov Staircase in Nizhny Novgorod "turned into" a run for tubing. A clip of the "ride" down one of the city's main attractions appeared on social media.

      The footage shows a young man sliding from the top steps and flying almost the entire length of the Chkalov Staircase. The tubing picked up too much speed, causing the daredevil to bounce on the landings, and then he even flew off the innertube.

      Residents of Nizhny Novgorod online expressed their concerns about the choice of place for riding. "What if he hits the road? Festivities are one thing, but this is plainly dangerous," wrote user Y. "Rightly so, otherwise the emergency rooms would be idle," Andrey S. sarcastically remarked.

      Recall that in March 2025 speed skating competitions were held on the Chkalov Staircase. Several athletes were injured during the tournament.
