A pilot project for digital support of participants in the special military operation has been launched in the Nizhny Novgorod region. Now defenders of the Fatherland can visit museums and theaters by presenting a QR code from the Gosuslugi mobile app, the regional government press service reported.
The region is among the first sites in Russia where this initiative of the Russian Ministry of Digital Development is being implemented. Moscow and St. Petersburg are also included in the project.
To use the new mechanism, a participant in the special military operation who served under the Ministry of Defence must have a verified account on the Gosuslugi portal. In the mobile app, it is enough to go to the service page and press the "Get" button — the system will automatically generate a QR code confirming the status. It can be presented directly from the smartphone screen or saved as a screenshot. The code is valid for five minutes, after which it is refreshed for security reasons.
In Nizhny Novgorod, the Theatre for Young Spectators (TYuZ), the Nizhny Novgorod State Art Museum, a museum-reserve and the Russian Museum of Photography have already joined the project. The entrance check takes only seconds: an institution employee scans the QR code using the Goskan app and receives confirmation.
At the same time, the digital system does not replace traditional means of confirming benefits. If a participant in the special military operation belongs to another agency or their data has not yet been updated, they can use a paper certificate or a veteran's ID. If information is missing, the system will suggest contacting the Ministry of Defence’s Military Social Center to obtain the necessary documents.
It was previously reported that the duration of regional support measures for families of participants in the special military operation was extended for another year.
