Nizhny Novgorod's Torpedo suffered its third consecutive defeat.

      Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod's hockey players ended 2025 on a low note, suffering their third straight defeat. In Yaroslavl the team lost to Lokomotiv by a narrow 0–1 score.

      The first two periods were scoreless. In the opening period Nizhny Novgorod were short-handed three times but managed to keep their net intact.

      The decider came in the middle of the third period. After prolonged pressure from Lokomotiv, the hosts' forward Maxim Berezkin managed to shove the puck past Denis Kostin. The goal was the 39th shot on goal that Torpedo's goaltender faced in the match.

      Nizhny Novgorod could not respond. Alexei Isakov's side have failed to score for a second straight game.

      Over the calendar year 2025, Torpedo amassed 50 points and are fifth in the standings.

      Torpedo will play their first game of the new year at home: on January 4 the team will host Moscow's Spartak, and on January 6 Kazakhstan's Barys.
