Nikitin congratulated Nizhny Novgorod residents on the upcoming New Year — video

      December 31, 2025 09:30 Society Governor of the Nizhny Novgorod Region Gleb Nikitin addressed the region’s residents with congratulations on the upcoming New Year. In his address he summed up the outgoing 2025 year and shared hopes for future successes.

      "Dear residents of Nizhny Novgorod! I wholeheartedly congratulate you on the New Year! This holiday fills our homes with an atmosphere of warmth, bringing generations together at the festive table. We always greet it with faith in the best, with gratitude for the past and hope for new achievements," said the head of the region.

      He emphasized that any positive changes begin with a personal choice, with the readiness to move forward and to embrace new opportunities.

      Speaking about the year’s results, Nikitin noted that 2025 was a time of significant achievements and overcoming challenges for the region. Despite external difficulties, the region continued to implement large-scale projects aimed at improving quality of life.

      In particular, the governor highlighted the opening of the first phase of an international IT campus, calling it an important step toward creating a "city of the future." He expressed confidence that such projects will help young people remain in the region, obtain an education, build careers and start families on their native soil.

      Nikitin also recalled the launch in 2025 of the large-scale demographic initiative "OSNOVA," which has already begun to yield its first positive results.

      The governor paid special attention to social policy. He stressed that support for participants in the special military operation and their families remains a top priority. "Our duty is to defend justice, preserve historical truth and instill these values in the rising generation. This is especially significant in the year of the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory," he said.

      Nikitin also spoke about the region’s achievements within national projects. In 2025 many schools in the region underwent major renovations, 25 feldsher-obstetric stations were built and more than 70 public spaces were improved. In addition, the region showed strong results in agriculture and industry.

      He expressed pride in the successes of people from Nizhny Novgorod in various fields — from culture and education to medicine and tourism. The governor particularly noted the victory of the hockey team "Torpedo-Gorky" in the All-Russian Hockey League, calling it an example of strength of spirit and perseverance.

      In closing his message, the governor wished the region’s residents health, peace and inspiration in the coming year.

      "May 2026 be a continuation of the path we started together. May it bring each of you new opportunities, happiness and prosperity. Let us meet it with kind thoughts and a readiness to create. Happy New Year, friends! Peace, love and goodness!" said the head of the region.

      On his social media, Gleb Nikitin posted a festive video.
