      Mayor Yuri Shalabaev congratulated the residents of Nizhny Novgorod on the upcoming New Year.

      "Festive days give us a sense of renewal and inspiration. On the eve of 2026 we look back on the past year with gratitude and note the important contribution we have all made to the development of our city: each in their own place. Thanks to our joint efforts and love for our hometown, Nizhny Novgorod is confidently moving forward, becoming more modern and stronger," the mayor said.

      "We are building kindergartens and schools, developing centers for supplementary education for our children, investing in the modernization of road infrastructure, keeping a high bar for the improvement of urban spaces, reviving sports, creating cultural centers, and increasingly making our presence felt across the country. 'Nizhny is a city you want to live in!' — that is one hundred percent about us!" added Shalabaev.

      The mayor urged residents to love their hometown and be proud of it, and to continue helping the authorities make it more beautiful and comfortable.

      "Dear residents of Nizhny Novgorod, I wish you health, well‑being, warmth and joy among your loved ones. Together we are capable of much! Happy New Year!" concluded the head of the city administration.

      Earlier, Governor Gleb Nikitin congratulated Nizhny Novgorod residents on the upcoming holiday.
