Seventeen cases of illegal sale of pyrotechnics were identified in Nizhny Novgorod.

      In Nizhny Novgorod, officers of the city directorate of the Interior Ministry, together with representatives of the administration, conducted an inspection of compliance with rules for trading pyrotechnic products. The raid was organized ahead of the New Year holidays to prevent possible incidents related to the use of low-quality firecrackers and fireworks.

      During the control measures, specialists recorded 17 instances of illegal sales of pyrotechnics. A total of 1,804 items with a total value of 48,400 rubles were seized from circulation.

      Seventeen administrative reports were drawn up against the offenders. Of these, 7 were under Part 1 of Article 14.1 of the Code of Administrative Offences of the Russian Federation for conducting entrepreneurial activity without registration or a license, 9 were under Article 2.5 of the Code of Administrative Offences of the Nizhny Novgorod Region for failure to comply with trading rules at fairs, and 1 was under Article 14.2 of the Code of Administrative Offences of the Russian Federation for the illegal sale of goods whose sale is restricted or prohibited.

      The police remind residents of Nizhny Novgorod that pyrotechnics may only be used in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions. It is important to strictly observe fire safety rules to avoid injuries and accidents.

      Earlier it was reported that 330 Christmas trees were seized from illegal vendors in Nizhny Novgorod.
