The contractor building the Nizhny Novgorod metro was fined 64 million rubles.

      The municipal customer "GUMMiD" has presented the contractor JSC "Mosproject-3" with a new amount of penalties for failing to meet deadlines for work on the metro project in the upland part of Nizhny Novgorod. According to the information published in the contract card, the amount of accrued penalties totaled 64.1 million rubles.

      The basis for the sanctions was the breach of deadlines for a number of works. In particular, this concerns delays in the construction of engineering utilities, outdoor lighting and communications networks, as well as a bypass road. The list of overdue obligations also includes the reconfiguration of traffic light installations at key intersections in the city — Gorky – Alekseevskaya, Gorky – Sputnik Cinema, Bolshaya Pecherskaya – Sechenova and others.

      In addition, further adjustments were made to the contract. They relate to changes in the cost estimate documentation, as well as clarifications of the scope of structural solutions and the list of works related to the extension of the Avtozavodskaya metro line to Sennaya station.

      After the project adjustment, the completion of the Ploshchad Svobody and Sennaya stations is planned for 2027.

      Recall that in the summer of 2025 JSC "Mosproject-3" had already received remarks about deadlines for metro construction in Nizhny Novgorod. At that time it was reported that the contractor was charged nearly 2 billion rubles for falling behind schedule on the metro extension project in Sormovo.
