      Although there will be no official celebratory fireworks in Nizhny Novgorod on New Year’s Eve, city residents will be allowed to set off pyrotechnic devices, but only in designated locations.

      According to the Municipal State Institution "Department for Civil Defense and Emergency Situations of Nizhny Novgorod," special zones have been prepared in each district of the city.

      The sites are located at the following addresses:

      - Avtozavodsky District — the beach area of Lake Zemsnaryad (phase 1, Hero Smirnov Street);

      - Kanavinsky District — the beaches of Lakes Meshcherskoye and Sortirovochnoye (Birch Grove);

      - Leninsky District — the recreation area in the Molitovsky backwater (2nd Line);

      - Nizhegorodsky District — the embankment of the Rowing Canal opposite the U Alexandra restaurant;

      - Prioksky District — the Cherepichny settlement, in the area of house No. 14;

      - Sormovsky District — a site in Sormovsky Park;

      - Novinsky Selsovet — the turning area behind the Lime residential complex;

      - Kstovo — Lenin Square, Oil Refiners Boulevard, Yubileyny Park and Kotovsky Street.

      The department reminded that the use of pyrotechnics outside specially designated areas is prohibited. Fireworks must not be set off indoors, on balconies, roofs, stages, or near power lines, at cultural heritage sites, close to fire- and explosion-hazard facilities, or in places of mass gatherings.

      Particular attention should be paid to the technical condition of the items. It is forbidden to use pyrotechnics past their expiration date, with damaged packaging, or without instructions or a certificate of conformity.

      Before use, carefully read the instructions; do not lean over the item while lighting it and do not hold it in your hands after activation.

      In case of fire or other emergencies, immediately call: 101, 112 or 268-11-00.

      It was previously reported that a ban on launching fireworks near residential buildings was introduced in the Nizhny Novgorod Region. NIA "Nizhny Novgorod" has a Telegram channel. Subscribe to stay informed about major events, exclusive materials and breaking information.
