December 27, 2025 11:10 Economy A series RSD59 dry-cargo ship built at the Krasnoye Sormovo shipyard of the United Shipbuilding Corporation has gone out for sea trials, the USC press service reported.
The vessel left the shipyard’s fitting-out quay and headed for the Vasil′sursk area. About 40 specialists are on board — the shipyard’s commissioning team and representatives of the classification society.
During the trials they will check the operation of the main engine, the vessel’s maneuverability, navigation equipment and auxiliary systems. Testing will continue until December 28. After all checks are completed, the vessel will be prepared for delivery to the customer.
The USC added that RSD59-class dry-cargo ships are intended to carry a wide range of cargoes: from general and bulk cargo to scrap metal, lumber, coal and hazardous substances of category “B”. The vessels can also transport oversized and heavy-lift cargo.
