      In Dzerzhinsk they plan to regulate the development of Trade Square, where for many years trade pavilions were erected spontaneously and a local "Shanghai" has formed. Special attention will be paid to the area near the TSUM department store, where in recent years new structures have appeared without the necessary approvals.

      According to the press service of the Legislative Assembly of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, a meeting was held in the city administration attended by the chairman of the Legislative Assembly, Evgeny Lyulin, and the head of Dzerzhinsk, Mikhail Klinkov.

      During the discussion it became clear that some of the commercial structures built back in the early 2000s do not meet modern fire safety and anti-terrorism requirements. In addition, the new pavilions were not approved by the city's chief architect, which violates established urban planning standards.

      The existing development on a plot of about 6 hectares has led to a shortage of parking spaces and creates serious difficulties for traffic. Meeting participants emphasized that by the city's 100th anniversary it is necessary to radically change the appearance of the square.

      Authorities are considering taking the matter to court and using the mechanism of comprehensive development of territories (KRT) to solve the problem. The Legislative Assembly also proposed amending the legislation to make it mandatory to coordinate all such projects with the head of the city.

      The administration of Dzerzhinsk and the relevant ministries were instructed to conduct a comprehensive analysis of the situation and develop a concrete action plan to regulate development and improve the area.

      Earlier it was reported that a large distribution center will be established in Dzerzhinsk.
