265 residents of Nizhny Novgorod completed advanced training programs in the field of unmanned aerial systems (UAS). The educational courses were held as part of the federal project "Personnel for UAS" of the national project "Unmanned Aerial Systems" on the "University 2035" platform.

"In the Nizhny Novgorod Region, the implementation of the national project 'Unmanned Aerial Systems' is being carried out comprehensively. In addition to existing business support measures such as preferential financing and promotion of Nizhny Novgorod developments at the federal level, a key area of work remains personnel training. The formation of a professional community of specialists is a strategic priority that lays the foundation for the region's future leadership in this field," said Maxim Cherkasov, Minister of Industry, Trade and Entrepreneurship of the Nizhny Novgorod Region.

125 people completed the online programs. Participants studied subjects such as "Project Management in the Field of UAS," "UAS Software Development," "Certification of UAS," "Legal Regulation of UAS Use," "Ensuring Control and Safety in the Use of UAS," and "Leasing Activities in the UAS Sector."

140 people completed the offline programs. Participants took practical piloting courses such as "Basic Training for Operators of Multirotor UAS" and "Fundamentals of Aerial Photography Using UAS," as well as applied courses: "Territory Monitoring," "Use of UAS in Agriculture," and "Forest Management Monitoring." Separate programs were dedicated to engineering and technical aspects: "Diagnostics, Maintenance and Repair of UAS" and "Design of UAS Control, Communication and Navigation Systems."

"For us as a region where an experimental legal regime is being implemented and large pilot projects are being conducted with industrial partners, the demand for qualified personnel in the field of unmanned systems is extremely relevant. In 2025, the Nizhny Novgorod Region continued work under the federal project 'Personnel for UAS'," said Sergey Gerasimov, Head of the Department for the Development of Scientific and Production Activities at the ANO "Gorky Tech."

Each program comprised 144 academic hours. Upon completion of the courses, graduates received certificates of advanced training of the established form.

The launch of a new intake of training programs is scheduled for the first half of 2026. Training will be available to citizens aged 18 and over who have not reached retirement age and who have secondary vocational or higher education, or who are enrolled in relevant educational programs.

Recall that the development of UAS in the country is being carried out within the framework of the national project "Unmanned Aerial Systems," developed at the behest of President Vladimir Putin. Its implementation contributes to creating conditions for workforce training and expanding the use of drones across all sectors of the economy.
