Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod may move into the new Ice Arena in March.

      TsURS General Director Maxim Gafurov said that the deadline for hockey club Torpedo's move to the new arena is considered to be March next year. His comments were reported by Match TV.

      Gafurov noted that the question of moving to the new venue is being worked on daily, as many uncertain factors remain. According to him, the final date has not yet been announced because it may change in either direction, and the timelines were deliberately extended because changes had to be made to major infrastructure elements that were in the original project.

      The head of TsURS did not rule out that the team might not manage to move before the end of the current season. He also noted that in that case the decision would be made in dialogue with the club and the head coach.

      "I would resolve this issue in dialogue with the club. Let's call the beginning of March the deadline by which we would manage. If not, we will talk with Alexey Gennadyevich Isakov so that this does not harm the team. I don't know how much the fans will understand us, but this is a good reason to say that the move is very sensitive for the team; many players have developed their own rituals," Gafurov emphasized.

      Recall that the opening of the Ice Palace on Strelka has been postponed to 2026. The facility is currently 99% complete. Governor Gleb Nikitin noted that the timing of Torpedo's move will be coordinated directly with the club.

      Earlier it became known what would happen to Torpedo's current home venue, the Nagorny cultural and entertainment complex, after the club moves to the new arena.
