      The tunnel-boring shield "Vladimir", involved in the construction of the Nizhny Novgorod metro, continues to make its way under the historic part of the city — from Sennaya station toward Freedom Square.

      According to the Telegram channel "MetroNN", since the last report the shield has advanced another 250 meters, bringing the total distance traveled to 1,250 meters.

      Work is currently underway to prepare the dismantling chamber where the shield is expected to emerge soon. In the excavation pit of the future station, workers are pouring a special concrete base that will become part of the platform complex.

      It was previously reported that contracts for the construction of the metro in Nizhny Novgorod have been extended. Completion of the metro lines to Sennaya and Freedom Square stations has been postponed to 2027.

      In addition, plans for the locations of the entrances to the Freedom Square metro station were published.
