3 December 2025, 11:50 Culture and Leisure Koromyslovaya Tower of the Nizhny Novgorod Kremlin will be turned into a museum after restoration, the governor Gleb Nikitin’s Telegram channel reports.

The renovated space will house an exhibition dedicated to the construction of the stone Kremlin. It covers the period of the 16th–17th centuries and presents the results of a detailed study of the architecture and fortification solutions of the defensive structures.

The exhibition places special emphasis on construction technologies and structural features that provided the fortress with high strength and reliability.

Visitors will be told why stone was chosen for the construction of the Kremlin, and tour guides will explain the main principles of the fortress’s defense. Visitors will also hear folk legends associated with the Koromyslovaya Tower.

Interactive zones and play elements will be installed inside, allowing visitors to feel like a medieval engineer and try their hand at the construction techniques of that time.

The two lower floors of the tower will be reconfigured as educational and creative spaces. Lectures, master classes, ethnographic programs and small theatrical events will be held there.

The project is planned for completion by the end of 2026.

Recall that at the end of November NGIAMZ announced a tender to select a contractor for the reconstruction of the Koromyslovaya Tower. The starting price of the contract is 43.9 million rubles.
