Officers of the regional FSB raided two drug laboratories, the agency’s press service reported.
Three residents of the Nizhny Novgorod region are implicated in the case. It was established that they organized illegal production of a synthetic drug in Sarov, which they subsequently planned to stash in secret caches for sale.
Security forces raided both laboratories, seizing the drug, equipment for producing prohibited substances, as well as large batches of the substance ready for packaging and distribution.
The Investigative Committee opened a criminal case under part 1 of article 30 and point “a” of part 4 of article 228.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
Two detainees have been placed in pretrial detention, the third under house arrest.
Earlier it was reported that the house with the drug laboratory had been confiscated in the Nizhny Novgorod region.
We also reported that a Nizhny Novgorod resident faces up to 15 years in prison for possession of three kilograms of drugs.
