261 "fare-dodgers" were fined on Nizhny Novgorod public transport in November.

      02 December 2025 17:30 Society In November employees of the Center for Transport Systems Development identified 261 cases of fare-rule violations on Nizhny Novgorod public transport. This was reported by the New Route Network of the Nizhny Novgorod agglomeration. 225 citations were issued for traveling without a ticket. Another 32 passengers attempted to use other people’s concessionary transport cards. Over the month 117 people voluntarily paid fines, the total amount of which was 145,000 rubles. For 66 citizens who ignored the obligation to pay the fine within the prescribed period, documents were sent to the bailiff service. Collection will now be carried out by compulsory means. The CRTS reminded that the fine for fare evasion is 1,000 rubles, and for using someone else’s concessionary card — 2,000 rubles. Earlier it was reported that Nizhny Novgorod ranked twelfth in terms of public transport fares among 20 major Russian cities.
