Experts of the Regional Competence Center (RCC), together with employees of Modern Pipeline Systems LLC in Nizhny Novgorod, summed up the interim results of introducing the tools of the federal project "Labor Productivity" of the national project "Efficient and Competitive Economy" at the enterprise.
The company manufactures pipeline systems for the nuclear industry.
Specialists from the Regional Competence Center work at enterprises participating in the federal project for six months. After three months an Information Day is held, at which RCC experts summarize the work and present plans for the second part of the project.
According to the Minister of Industry, Trade and Entrepreneurship of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, Maxim Cherkasov, the production process of parts made of ferrous metal was chosen as the pilot line; it accounts for 65 percent of the company's revenue, so improvements on the pilot line will help significantly increase output across the entire enterprise.
"RCC experts analyzed the company's operations and, together with enterprise employees, identified 14 factors reducing throughput in the pilot line. These include a large number of reworks, cluttering of production areas, and time lost searching for blanks. For each problem, an action plan has been developed that will increase line output by 29 percent," said Maxim Cherkasov.
RCC experts also trained 27 company employees in lean technologies and prepared three internal trainers who will be able to conduct training independently in the future.
Modern Pipeline Systems (STS) became the first manufacturer of pipeline systems to join the federal project "Labor Productivity" of the national project "Efficient and Competitive Economy" in the Nizhny Novgorod Region. A total of 302 regional companies are participants in the federal project.
