In the Nizhny Novgorod region, 541 teachers will receive monetary incentives because their students successfully passed the Unified State Exam (EGE) in profile mathematics and physics. The total amount of payments exceeded 10.5 million rubles.
According to the regional Ministry of Education and Science, each teacher will receive 5,000 rubles for each student who scored a high mark. This year, a high mark is considered to be 77 points or more in mathematics and 76 points or more in physics.
This support measure has been in effect since 2024 at the initiative of Governor Gleb Nikitin. Under his decree, the payments will be made annually. Support for teachers is implemented as part of the national project "Youth and Children."
According to the exam results for the 2024/2025 academic year, the region recorded 2,106 high-scoring results — 1,617 in mathematics and 489 in physics.
Most teachers whose students achieved excellent results work in the Avtozavodsky, Nizhegorodsky and Sovetsky districts of Nizhny Novgorod, as well as in Sarov, Dzerzhinsk and the Gorodetsky district.
More than 50 teachers prepared ten or more students who passed the exam with a high score. Teachers from Lyceum No. 38, Lyceum No. 40 and the lyceum-boarding school "Center for Gifted Children" in Nizhny Novgorod were particularly distinguished.
Payments have already begun, and it is planned that all the money will reach the teachers by 15 December 2025.
It was previously reported that 74 graduates of Nizhny Novgorod schools scored 100 points on the EGE.
