On December 1, state civil servants of the Nizhny Novgorod Region were awarded the "Honorary Mentor" badge for their personal contribution to activities supporting, training and adapting novice specialists. The awards ceremony took place as part of the 3rd Mentors' Forum, which brought together more than 80 employees of the region's executive bodies. It was organized by the Ministry of Personnel Policy of the Nizhny Novgorod Region.
The awards were presented by Deputy Governor of the Nizhny Novgorod Region Andrey Gneushev and Acting Minister of Personnel Policy of the Government of the Nizhny Novgorod Region Elena Amosova.
Andrey Gneushev thanked the civil servants for supporting novice specialists and developing mentoring in the Nizhny Novgorod Region.
"The mentoring institution is actively being revived in Russia, and mentors are now a mandatory part of all personnel programs. These are the people who pass on their knowledge and experience so that a person can develop and confidently move up the career ladder. Each mentor has a certain path behind them. Personal communication helps avoid many mistakes that novice employees face. The symbiosis of experience, wisdom and practice yields a completely different result. It also helps find solutions to complex problems together. Only together can we develop the system of personnel growth," emphasized Andrey Gneushev.
The results of the implementation of mentoring programs in 2025 were presented by Acting Minister of Personnel Policy of the Government of the Nizhny Novgorod Region Elena Amosova. She said that in 2025, 215 mentors from 41 executive bodies were engaged.
"We are using a new approach to mentoring designed to make the adaptation of new employees as comfortable and productive as possible. We regularly receive feedback from mentors and newcomers, which allows us to monitor the process and provide necessary support in a timely manner. Mentoring contributes to raising employees' professional level, increasing their work efficiency and strengthening the personnel composition," noted Elena Amosova.
Nine people from the Nizhny Novgorod Region were awarded the "Honorary Mentor" distinction.
In addition, the teams of the Ministry of International and Interregional Relations of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, the Ministry of Urban Development and Agglomeration Development of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, and the Committee for Archives of the Nizhny Novgorod Region were recognized with the Governor's commendation for active mentoring activities.
As part of the forum, the head of the Committee for Archives of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, Boris Pudalov, shared the successful experience of organizing mentoring activities in his department.
An educational training aimed at developing the key competencies of mentors in the civil service was also organized for participants.
