Traffic police detained an intoxicated driver after a chase in the Arzamas District of the Nizhny Novgorod Region.
According to the regional Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the incident occurred in the village of Abramovo. A traffic patrol crew attempted to stop a Lada Kalina whose driver was violating traffic rules. The man did not respond to the police's lawful order to stop and accelerated.
The chase ended on Meditsinskaya Street, where the offender finally stopped. While speaking with the driver, the officers noticed obvious signs of alcohol intoxication and offered to conduct a test on the spot.
The examination results showed 1.403 per mille of alcohol in the exhaled air. The driver was a 61-year-old resident of the urban-type settlement of Shatki.
An administrative protocol was drawn up against the man under Part 1 of Article 12.8 of the Code of Administrative Offences of the Russian Federation — driving a vehicle while intoxicated.
Earlier it was reported that in Dzerzhinsk, Nizhny Novgorod Region, police had pursued an intoxicated driver.
