A crash involving buses on the M-12 near Arzamas has prompted a preliminary investigation.

      A pre-investigation check has been opened over a crash involving two buses on the M-12 in the Arzamas district, the Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee for the Nizhny Novgorod Region reported.

      On the evening of December 2, several vehicles collided on the toll road, including two buses.

      According to the State Traffic Inspectorate, 17 people were injured. Of these, three received medical assistance at the scene. Fourteen people were taken to hospital by ambulance, one of whom is a child.

      Investigators are establishing the circumstances of the incident. During the check, law enforcement officers will give a legal assessment of compliance with safety requirements in the provision of passenger transport services.

      Earlier it was reported that the multi-vehicle crash had attracted the attention of the prosecutor's office.
